Spring Term Project

Posted on January 30 2015

As part of our spring term project regarding the celebration of cultural diversity within our school community we have focused, for last two weeks, on France and we have introduced many aspects of the country to the children.

The children enjoyed French cuisine and tried some famous French cheeses accompanied by French baguettes in a makeshift café making and tasting their own open sandwiches.

The children have made flags, learned about the capital of France and the Eifel tower as its famous landmark. They have learned to say: ‘Bonjour, Au Revoir and Merci’ in French and they wrote French numbers and colours for anybody to see on display.

We also welcomed Mrs. Rabin, our French parent who prepared a lovely presentation of her country of origin. She brought some food and pictures to share and she demonstrated how to have a conversation in the French.
