Spanish Day

Posted on June 19 2015

Last week the Montessori Nursery children celebrated Spanish culture with a traditional end of the year fiesta to culminate the children’s learning in their Spanish lessons, taught by Mrs. Maria-Grazia Raguso.  The day was a celebration of all the children’s hard work.

The children were welcomed in the school playground to the sounds of salsa and flamenco music.  The Head of School, Elizabeth Burke, welcomed all the parents present at the event by thanking them for taking time out to come and join the children on this special day. The children dressed as matadors and senoritas and exhibited their lovely costumes on a catwalk.

This was followed by a wonderful café and stalls selling traditional Spanish artefacts made by the children and their teachers such as Spanish fans, flags, beautiful paper flowers and matador hats!  There was a lovely café with Spanish food donated by the parents as well as a bank where parents could take out Euros to pay for the food and merchandise.  Each child had a special role to play during this part of the afternoon.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the parents for their generosity and support and for making the day a success.
Mrs Raguso
