New Year - New Start! Read Lisa Isbell’s

Welcome to the New school year! As you may have seen we have undergone some amazing changes in the summer. We have a wonderful new Infant Community room which is bright, airy, spacious and so much bigger than what we had before. The work to the building has involved a lovely new front to the school with a few Red Robin bushes to go in soon. We are also eagerly anticipating our new door entry system and the children (and parents) have appreciated the larger area to leave buggies and scooters! This seems to have encouraged a boom in scooting to school!

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to Liz Burke and Fran Joyce who are our Reception Teachers in the Norfolk House Reception class on the ground floor. Liz is also our Deputy Head across the two sites.  The Reception children have settled in so very well and are very much part of the family on the Princes Avenue site.

We have also been very busy working on policies, practice and ensuring cohesion between the two sites. We are working hard to ensure that the up and coming inspection will show both us and our children at our full and best potential.

Finally to the children! Our children are all settling in well and have made an excellent start to their new term. Our infants are thoroughly enjoying their new room as are the staff. A number of the children have experienced their first trip to Muswell Hill Library and had fun listening to the story teller and choosing their own books. Our first swimming on Tuesday went exceptionally well and the children were so proud of themselves. The children also enjoyed the experience of being on a small coach and it proved to be almost as exciting as the swimming lesson itself. Now it is onwards and upwards to our first woodwork lesson in the next few week.
