It has been a very busy couple of weeks for the children in the nursery. The trip to the Natural History Museum was a huge success! The children were totally captivated by all the aspects of the trip from the coach journey through to the dinosaurs themselves! A fantastic time was had by all and even now they are still recounting their experience to their younger class members and teachers! In class we are backing up the visit with books, art and pictures - we have many mini dinosaurs now!

Cuba came to school  last week in a follow up to the French presentation done in January. The children were treated to an amazing array of Cuban instruments and music. They were fascinated by the music and rhythm and we have followed this up with dancing and learning dance steps in other areas of our day. We have also introduced the flag of cuba and the children have used their painting skills to create some wonderful replicas! In cookery we showed the children how to make fruit cocktails using fresh juices and fresh fruit and discussed the ingredients and their origin.

The terms project on introducing different cultures and countries has been truly successful and we would welcome any parents who would like to come into school to share with us their skills (cooking and art!!??) and knowledge (we note that the children are particularly drawn to music, instruments and dance!!) We are looking forward to Russia, Greece and Cyprus in the near future!
