Children’s Class Top Floor | Maths Games

Posted on September 01 2014

The children's class on the top floor (Garden Side) have enjoyed working on additions and subtractions this term, using stamp games and writing out numbers.

As Montessori children have a very high grip on mathematics, it is left to them to decide whether to do additions or subtractions and the children have all found this interesting.

The children have also been practising how to count a thousand beads, which helps them to acquire the sensorial impression of one thousand. Working with the 'Addition Snake' has also allowed the children to learn the sensorial impression of additions, and to discover the combinations of tens.
