During the last two weeks our Princess Avenue children have had very interesting and exciting visits from some really important people in our society.  In their first week the children had the opportunity to meet fire fighters and even got to climb into a real fire engine! They learnt the importance fire fighters have in our lives and were allowed to try on real fire fighter helmets which they thoroughly enjoyed.  Furthermore, our very own Mrs. Northend was lucky enough to try out a whole fire fighter outfit which looked heavy and strong.

Our second visitor was from the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution): the largest charity In Great Britain that saves lives at sea around the coasts of the UK and Ireland. Our children learnt that RNLI provides a 24 hour rescue service and are committed to saving lives. Our visitor (who also happens to be the partner of our infant community teacher, Mrs. Lauren McCorkell), explained what RNLI does and how they save lives. The children had the opportunity to watch videos and once again try out a very heavy helmet; however, this time it was Mrs Bolton's fortunate turn to try out the uniform!
