Montessori Lite Class Visits the Local Library

Posted on September 19 2014

The children of the Montessori Lite class have started their new school year with a visit to the local library. The visit was some of the children's first time off site and there was a high level of excitement. The children had an interactive story telling session which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

The library visits help the children with new experiences and enable them to access what the local area has to offer. The stories are often linked to the topic areas or an area of interest that the children have at the time. Language and literacy is fostered and developed as well as areas in their social and emotional development such as turn taking and following instruction.
