This Friday, the Montessori children had an introduction to Turkish culture.  They listened to Turkish music and even learnt how to belly dance which they enjoyed immensely. It was a real pleasure to see our young ones dancing away with their special penny belts to some traditional Turkish music. The children were shown examples of Turkish crafts, traditional Turkish clothing and photographs of important locations in Turkey.  They also had the chance to taste traditional sweets from Turkey made by our very own Mrs. Northend and Mrs. Kent.

Next week, the Montessori children are getting ready for World Book Day. The children are all already very excited about this upcoming event and especially about dressing up as their favourite characters!.  Next Tuesday Mr. Akyuz has agreed to come in to read his book “ I Am Bear” to our children. He has kindly agreed to sign copies of his book for the children. So, if you do have a much-loved copy at home or even a spanking new one, please do send it in with the children with their names written inside for Mr. Akyuz to sign. On Wednesday, Norfolk House buddies will be coming in to read stories to Montessori children and on the following Friday we have a Road Dahl workshop to look forward to. As you can see, there is never a dull moment in the Montessori House.smile
