The Montessori children have settled very well in their classrooms and are getting to know their new friends. They have already started learning about the many Montessori activities. All day Montessori children are keen to learn and find out about the broad range of activities offered during our afternoons sessions which include Cookery, Highgate Woods Trip, French, Botany, Science and Art, as well as regular visits to our local library..

Already the Montessori children have had a lot of fun making Mosaic Desert and Stuffed Pastries during our Cookery classes on Monday afternoons.  Cookery is a much enjoyed activity by all the children as well as the teachers. Our aim is to instill an appreciation of different foods at this young age, and help the children to develop a life-long love of cooking.  Cooking is a fantastic activity for our children as they learn and practice a range of skills (including cleaning up after cooking!). It also gives the children a chance to improve their mathematical skills by calculating and being precise with the ingredients they need to use and an understanding of food and where it comes from. More importantly, cooking is a great way of helping us to bond with our children.
