Infant Community - Spring Flowers

Posted on March 17 2016

Spring has finally arrived and we seem to be having some beautiful Spring days with blue skies and sunshine. The Infant Community have been painting daffodils and have been 'marbling' eggs for Easter. Adding marbling ink to water the children then dipped and rolled their eggs covering them in a beautiful coloured pattern. They have continued with 'marbling' a piece of paper in the shape of an Easter egg to make an Easter card.

As well as this the Infant Community have made 'Spring flowers in flower pots' for the display, using their hand prints as the flower stems, and then finger painting  flowers around each finger. For planting, the children have been wetting cotton wool and adding 'cress' seeds to it, which will hopefully grow in time for Easter.

Last week on Thursday the children joined in with the Nursery children to mark 'Sports Relief'. They took part in an obstacle race, consisting of jumping into different coloured hoops, balancing while walking across the 'stepping stones', crawling through hoops and finally crawling through a tunnel to the end. It was great fun and all the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
