Infant Community

Posted on March 27 2015

The Infant Community will be focusing on Spring and planting from now until the end of term. We will be talking about Spring in the garden, the improving weather (hopefully!)
and about planting seeds. The seeds we will be planting will be either sunflowers or nasturtiums.

We will be looking at the changes in our garden, the buds appearing on the trees and the shoots poking through the soil of flowers beginning to grow. We will be colouring tulips and daffodils and making Spring pictures. Also making an Easter card to take home at the end of term.

All these activities encourage communication and language, learning to share and to take turns. The children are using their gross and fine motor skills when planting seeds and using trowels to scoop soil into flower pots. Hopefully after a few weeks over the Easter holidays the seeds will germinate and each child will get to take home a plant to care for either in the pot or they can plant it in their own garden.
