Infant Community

Posted on March 12 2015

The Infant Community has been focusing on shapes since half term. The children are concentrating on learning the names of 3 shapes, a circle, a triangle and a square, and being able to recognise them. They are spotting these shapes out in the garden and also looking for them in the classroom and in books.

Using their fine motor skills, they are sticking and matching shapes for the display board, colouring in a sheet of shapes and painting within the outline of these shapes.

All these activities promote communication and language, they help with learning to work alongside others and also to learn to wait for their turn.
