Cookery for the Older Montessori Children

Posted on October 03 2014

The older Montessori children have begun their cookery lessons with an introduction to the concept of sweet and savoury. The children also explored tastes and textures as well as how the mixture changes after each ingredient is added.
So far this term the children have baked and enjoyed Chocolate cake, Cheese and Parsley Pastries and Olive bread! Which were your favourites?
The children were shown and took part in a variety of skills such as kneading dough, chopping, mixing, weighing and analysing before and after cooking. They also developed their skills of following instructions in a group and turn taking.
